HAFIZ MUNANDAR, UIC Business College Program Manager & full time lecturer

Hafiz Munandar graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Indonesia majoring in Finance Management. He started working for UniSadhuGuna as a Mathematics Tutor/Lecturer in 1997. He was appointed as Uniprep’s Mathematics Coordinator in 2006. To enrich his knowledge of the UNSW Foundation Year, he attended the UNSW Foundation Year Conferences in Kuala Lumpur (2004) and on the Gold Coast (2005). Hafiz was appointed as the Uniprep Academic Coordinator in 2007 which required him to undertake further training in Sydney (2008).

This long teaching experience led him to a new challenge as the UIC Business Program Manager at the beginning of 2011. Besides holding UIC managerial positions, he is also lecturing in Business Decision Making and Mathematics for Business at the Institute.

An Edexcel training program during 2011 in Singapore gave him exceptional insights into the BTEC HND programs.

Hafiz believes his on-going contributions both as a Senior Manager and as a Senior Lecturer at UniSadhuGuna will ensure that UIC Business students achieve their study goals.

 

AMIE SUKESNA, UIC Business College Program Coordinator, Full time lecturer and Internal Verifier  

Amie Sukesna graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia in two streams; Public Relations and Mass Communications. Throughout her career she has gained experience through working in the business development area. This included implementation of strategic long range planning and integrated marketing communication. Specializing in the marketing field, Aimee has worked with a number of companies in Jakarta each with a different industry focus. These included the human resources industry, broadcasting and lastly education.  Her previous work experiences in marketing and the public relations field were applied in few positions such as Media Relations Officer, Account Manager, Marketing Coordinator and also as the Head of Public Relations. This experience in the business fields has strengthened her knowledge in marketing and in business operations in the wider context. Aside from her career in marketing she was appointed as the head of a university placement scheme and as the coordinator of a postgraduate program at a well known international college in Indonesia.  Her role as the coordinator involved the development of international relations and linkages with overseas universities and industrial partners.

In her mid career within the education industry, Amie has contributed to significant research into the development of quality education in Indonesia. This research was done in cooperation with a blue chip research agency in Jakarta to analyze the causes of high unemployment rates in Indonesia. The outcome of this work was to identify possible deficiencies in the current education programs and then to develop the most appropriate higher education curriculum for implementation in Indonesia’s higher education system. The key answers from this research were that practical based learning and soft skills enhancement were required in the curriculum. Aimee then shifted her career focus from marketing to academia and was appointed as the Program Coordinator of Unisadhuguna International College (UIC) Business as well as a lecturer in Marketing, Business Strategy, Marketing Planning and various other business subjects. Aimee was able to implement a practical based system in the UIC School of Business and dedicated her career in the academic field to ensure that the college achieved strong results with successful graduates who were well equipped with strong skills to ensure employment.

 

VERNON BRUCE, UIC Business College Academic Skills Development Coordinator

Vern Bruce holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) in Geo-Chemistry from La Trobe University in Melbourne as well as a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics from the University of Melbourne. After working as a geologist on an offshore oil rig and as an exploration geologist in outback Australia for a number of years he changed career directions and took out a Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) to qualify as teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL). He has taught English in the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Vietnam and Australia.

Over the past number of years, Vern was the General Manager of an International Education Office at a Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institute in Melbourne. He was responsible for the marketing and recruitment of students from more than 45 countries in Asia, North and South America, Europe and Africa. A major responsibility of his position was caring for the welfare of over 1000 international students who joined the Institute to undertake their diploma and degree studies in tourism or hospitality management. 

Vern first visited Indonesia in the early 1980's and has been a regular visitor every year since. He has now lived in Indonesia for almost five years and has dedicated his time to assisting Indonesian students prepare for the global environment through development of their academic skills in the medium of English.

 

BAGUS HARI WARDHONO, UIC Business College full time lecturer

Bagus Hari Wardhono graduated from The Hague University (Haagse Hogeschool), The Netherlands with a Master of Business Administration. He also holds a post graduate degree from the Japan-America Institute of Management Science (JAIMS) Hawaii, USA and a Bachelor of Business Administration STIE from Ista Ekanta Upadhita (IEU), Surabaya, Indonesia.

Before joining UIC as a business lecturer, Bagus Hari Wardhono had worked with GfK Marketing Research Agency as a Client Service Manager. He specialized in conducting market research and providing consultancy to top electronic manufacturing clients such as; Philips, Panasonic, Sharp, Toshiba, Samsung, Polytron and others. Apart from his work as a Client Service Manager, he has also had experience as an In-House Trainer. In this role he formulated training modules and launched training for the human resources development program. From GfK, Bagus moved to LG Electronics as the Product Marketing Manager. Working in LG enabled Bagus to see the electronic industry from a manufacturer’s perspective. This experience enables him to sharpen his marketing senses and expand his understanding of this industry. Having always been very passionate about teaching, Bagus would like to share his business experience and knowledge with his students and started his teaching experience in one of the private institution in Jakarta year 2009 and finally joined UIC in 2011.

 

YANI OKTAVIANA, UIC Business College full time lecturer

Yani Oktaviana holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from Edith Cowan University, Perth, Western Australia and Master of Business Administration from the University of Wollongong, New South Wales. Throughout her career Yani has established a strong reputation in the education field. For the last five years she has pursued her professional working portfolio as a commerce lecturer at international colleges around Jakarta with her specialization in marketing and communication subjects.  

As part of her professional vocation, Yani's interests do not only cater to pure academia; she has vast experiences in the music industry and has been actively involved in progressing the Hip Hop industry in Indonesia. Yani commenced working at UIC Business in early 2011 on a full time as a business lecturer. Her teaching principle involves application of interactive learning and teaching methods to ensure her students "learn by doing".

 

KUSDWIATMO (DWI) HARSOJO, UIC Business College full time lecturer

Kusdwiatmo (Dwi) Harsojo holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics Management from Trisakti University in Jakarta and a Master of Business Administration from the Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Specializing in Accounting and Finance, he has been working in these fields in various industries namely: energy, wholesale/distributor and non-profit higher education. His career path has also given him exposure to internal auditing; ensuring companies are adhering to proper ethical accounting processes and financial reporting standards. His recent teaching experience includes teaching accounting at a local international university in Jakarta.

Dwi also has experience working in the marketing communications field therefore giving valuable perspectives to his students about the importance of Accounting and Finance to other business units.

Besides his regular activity in teaching area, he is involved in youth organizational activities as League Coordinator with a local youth sports club in Jakarta."
